In January 2018 I had a total hip replacement and during my rehab several things happened;
~ I fell in love with Pilates and movement
~ I realised that there was an opportunity for me to help other people with exercise rehabilitation (post injury or pre/post surgery) and to enable others to become as strong and mobile as possible
~ Feet began to fascinate me!
I have developed a passion for helping people reach their full potential. I have first hand experience of how debilitating and wearing pain can be and how rewarding even the smallest steps of progress can be (getting my socks on was a big one for me!)
I have trained as a Biomechanics (movement) coach and alongside my Personal Trainer level 3 I have qualified in exercise and rehabilitation after injury as well as Pilates matwork and reformer.
More recently I have qualified in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM) with rock tape and I have completed my gait analysis qualification so I can help you build strength from the top down and bottom up.
Feet are our foundation, I will measure your toe strength (!) as well as assessing how you move, (gait analysis). I am able to look at the function of your feet using a pressure plate which allows me to prescribe very specific exercises to help you move better.
Don't suffer with foot pain, there are many things that I can do to help with this. Orthotics may help for a while but like a crutch after surgery the goal should be to try and strengthen the foot (and body) to allow your body to work well without the need for an orthotic (or surgery!)
